Banded Together - The Naugatuck Valley Project Story

Warning Signals

Better than a funeral . . .

The NVP immediately began responding to the threatened plant closings that were echoing around the Valley.

An NVP delegation met with Robert Carroll, the president of General Time Control, a Talley subsidiary in Thomaston, that had been put up for sale.  The delegation included people from the United Auto Workers, the Connecticut Citizen Action Group, an Episcopal priest, and Catholic Bishop Peter Rosazza.

“We confronted the executive officer.  I had never been involved with things like this before.  You could just see people a little more proud of themselves because they were able to do something like that.”
